Jersey Mike’s, an American sandwich chain with almost 1,300 stores stateside, has sponsored Riot GamesNorth American League of Legends Championship Series (NA LCS) for the upcoming Summer Split.

Typically involved in traditional sports – being named the official sandwich shop of the New York Yankees in 2015, for example – this is Jersey Mike’s first foray into the esports industry.

As part of this sponsorship, the sandwich giant will host fan activations on-site for ticket holders at the NA LCS Arena in Los Angeles. Not only that, its customers will have the chance to redeem promotional codes for in-game items in League of Legends – including Hextech chests & keys and loot skins.

Fans of the NA LCS will be provided with the opportunity to enter a sweepstake with a prize of an all-expenses-paid trip and exclusive VIP ticket for the 2018 NA LCS Summer Finals at the Oracle Arena, Oakland in September.

Rich Hope, Chief Marketing Officer of Jersey Mike’s stated: “As a longtime supporter of traditional sports, Jersey Mike’s is excited to enter the world of esports by partnering with the NA LCS. We believe this sponsorship is a great fit for Jersey Mike’s and LoL Esports fans alike, and look forward to connecting with the passionate League of Legends community each week.”

The 2018 Summer Split for the NA LCS kicks off on June 16th, with the regulation season wrapping up on August 19th. From there, the playoffs will span over August 25th to September 9th – the date in which the finals take place.

Esports Insider says: Non-endemic sponsorships seem to be coming in thick and fast for the esports industry as of late, and they’re always a little bit sweeter when they have a history in traditional sports – proving the gap between the two industries isn’t all that big.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
