United Talent Agency acquires Press X and Everyday Influencers

United Talent Agency has announced it’s expanding its portfolio of video game industry talent by acquiring esports talent agency Press X and management company Everyday Influencers.

The deal will add top esports stars and streamers to UTA’s portfolio, Press X represents talent like League of Legends stars Zaqueri “Aphromoo” Black, Adrian “Adrian” Ma and Paul “sOAZ” Boyer, among others. Press X has always had a focus on League of legends by its agents, former League player Marchel “Dexter” Feldkamp and Ferris Ganzman, who was a former coach in collegiate esports and independent representative of talent before joining Press X.

Everyday Influencers is a management agency with a focus on some of the largest gaming stars and streamers. Its clients included streamer and influencer Imane “pokimane” an and former NA LCS star and streamer of the year winner Michael “Imaqtpie” Santana, among others.

Jeremy Zimmer, CEO of UTA had this to say: “As we identify and adopt early trends within the digital ecosystem, we recognized that the acquisition of Press X and Everyday Influencers would be a forward-looking opportunity for us. The gaming sector is projected to reach over $135 (£101b) billion this year and esports and streaming are critical components of any strategy for growth. For UTA, these categories are complementary to our existing gaming practice and our business overall.”

UTA is not the first agency to offer its services to esports, KemperLEsnik recently opened an esports division. UTA now represents not only esports athletes and game industry professionals but has talent from a wide range of the entertainment industry, including stars of movie and TV.

Esports Insider says: Having talent get good representation is important, especially with all the terrible contract stories we have seen over the past few years. Deals like this won’t fix the problem overnight as new talent is still vulnerable; this is a step in the right direction, however.
