Italian esports organisation Mkers has entered a one-year content partnership with grooming brand Gillette.

The deal will focus on Mkers’ FIFA 19 competitors, creating branded content for the organisation’s Instagram account.

The content that will be created by Mkers and Gillette will tell the stories of Daniele “Iceprinsipe” Paolucci, Giancarlo “Gianky09” Casati, Giovanni “Giovhy69” Salvaggio, and Matteo “RiberaRibel” Ribera and their paths into becoming professionals in FIFA.

As well as competing in FIFA, Mkers fields teams in Clash Royale, Hearthstone, PES 2019, MotoGP 19, and Tennis World Tour. The organisation is also partnered with Lotto, RDS, Twitch, Nighthawk Pro Gaming, and Sparco Gaming.

This isn’t Gillette’s first involvement in the esports industry by a long shot. It already sponsors US-based organisation Team SoloMid, Overwatch League franchise Boston Uprising, and Brazil’s top tier League of Legends competition, Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends (CBLoL). Just recently, it partnered with Virtus.pro Dota 2 competitor, Alexey “Solo” Berezin for an advertisement campaign.

In August, Mkers entered a strategic partnership with marketing agency Infront. The result of the deal was for Infront to manage any and all commercial and marketing duties for Mkers, as well as creating content and graphics for its digital and social channels.

Esports Insider says: Considering Gillette has only made deals with high-profile teams and tournaments so far, Mkers must be happy with this move. While it’s only a content deal on Instagram, it’ll undoubtedly open up some more eyes towards the Italian organisation – which already has over 10,000 followers on that particular social platform.
