The third of the eight expansion teams that have joined the Overwatch League has been presented, and it’s the Paris Eternal.

Owned by DM Esports, the franchise’s identity – including its name, logo, and colours – was officially unveiled at a launch event hosted in Paris.

Paris Eternal

The official colours of the Paris Eternal are blue, burgundy, white, and gold. Blue is perhaps the least surprising colour choice, acting as the main colour in many national sporting uniforms from France. Red isn’t all too uncommon, either.

The logo is a take on the Gallic rooster, which is basically the unofficial national symbol of the nation of France. It’s a predictable and safe choice, but one that makes a lot of sense. Eternal seemingly comes from the eternal flame that’s at the Arc de Triomphe, a world-renowned landmark in Paris, France.

The newly-announced franchise already has a partner ahead of its inaugural season: OMEN by HP. The gaming PC brand sponsors the likes of Counter Logic Gaming, Cloud9, and BIG.

The other two teams that have been uncovered as of writing are the Atlanta Reign and the Toronto Defiant – both of which were revealed in October. There are still five more brands to be announced.

The second season of the Overwatch League commences on February 14th, with teams now only playing 28 matches instead of the 40 that were played by each side during the inaugural season.

Esports Insider says: The designers over at the Overwatch League obviously prefer some colours to other, choosing red and blue – two heavily used colours – as well as gold to base Paris Enternal’s logo and jerseys on.
