Esports organisation Team Gullit has entered a multi-year partnership with Robey Sportswear.
The deal will see the team – which is owned by former footballer Ruud Gullit – have its own merchandise in a similar vein to traditional sportswear.
At the time of writing, the collaboration between Team Gullit and Robey Sportswear includes an official jersey, and off-pitch jacket, and off-pitch jogging bottoms. They’re currently available for purchase through the team’s official store.
Corné Dubelaar, Founder of Team Gullit discussed the deal: “Just like with the creation of Team Gullit, we do something innovative with this collaboration.After the launch of Team Gullit, several football players (including Mesut Ozil and Christian Fuchs) started their own FIFA team. I hope that through this cooperation we will bring the sports and sports world a little closer together.”
Team Gullit is an academy that aims to train and propel “the most promising talents in FIFA”. It currently houses five players of varying nationalities, including the Netherlands, Brazil, and Sweden.
Toine van den Berg, Brand Manager of Robey Sportswear also commented: “The professional soccer organizations Sparta Rotterdam and Willem II have been playing in Robey for a number of years, and from next season we can also proudly add Team Gullit to this list and we are one of the first sports brands to take a very focused approach.
“We see Team Gullit as one of the pioneers in this huge growth market, which is why we are very excited about this collaboration.Together with Team Gullit we have put together a club collection which includes the Custom Made Team Gullit Home Jersey. Team Gullit one of the first FIFA teams with a fully developed Merchandise line.”
Esports Insider says: With Ruud Gullit having an impressive background in traditional sports, it’s not too surprising to see the team take cues from sportswear. Robey Sportswear has a long history is creating sporting merchandise so it seems like a reliable partner to have.
