FACEIT has announced HyperX, the gaming division of Kingston Technology Company, as the official sponsor of mice, mouse pads, DRAM, and SSD products for the upcoming FACEIT Global Summit: PUBG Classic.

During the first global event in the official PUBG esports season, HyperX will have its branding and ad placements presented in the official stream, on social media, and within ExCeL London – the venue for the tournament.

Michele Attisani, Co-Founder & CBO of FACEIT discussed the deal in a release: “We’re thrilled to partner with HyperX once again on the FACEIT Global Summit. We have a strong history of working together on some of our biggest events such as the FACEIT London Major in 2018, and now on ECS for the entirety of 2019. We continue to be delighted with the quality of the products they provide and the value they bring to our events, and we look forward to working together on our prestigious global tournament in London this Spring.”

Acting as the culmination of the first of three phases in 2019, the FACEIT Global Summit: PUBG Classic will welcome 24 teams from the nine competitive regions included in the global circuit. There will be a $400,000 (£305,962) prize pool and a show match involving six teams that qualified through the FACEIT PUBG Showdown, a community initiative ran on FACEIT’s competitive platform.

Stephanie Winkler, Strategic Marketing Supervisor at HyperX also commented: “HyperX recognizes the significance of FACEIT’s inaugural Global Summit: PUBG Classic and what it means for global competitive battle royale esports. Through the tournament HyperX looks forward to showcasing how professional-grade peripherals and internals give PUBG gamers the competitive edge; whether in a casual squad at home or on a massive international stage such as ExCel London.”

Just last month, HyperX was announced as an official sponsor of FACEIT’s Esportrs Championship Series (ECS) for its seventh and eighth seasons. The gaming peripherals and accessories brand has also been sponsoring more teams as of late, including Pittsburgh Knights and compLexity Gaming.

Esports Insider says: Considering this is the first official global event as part of PUBG Corp’s big esports push, there could well be a lot of internal pressure on it to perform well. HyperX is a well-known brand within gaming and esports and – while it may not be able to bring in thousands of viewers on its own – the support it can provide FACEIT and PUBG Corp. will come in handy.
