Esports merchandising company We Are Nations has entered a partnership with Walmart Marketplace, the online retail place for the multinational retail corporation.
The deal will see Walmart Marketplace list merchandise from We Are Nations’ roster of partners.
We Are Nations handles merchandise for the likes of OpTic Gaming, G2 Esports, Misfits Gaming, and Team MVP. The company plans to make Walmart Marketplace a key player when it comes to distributing merchandise and apparel moving forward.
Trenton Pierson, SVP of Strategy for We Are Nations discussed the deal: “Integrating into the Walmart Marketplace is a big step for esports. The market needs strong retail partners that believe in the future of gaming, and Walmart is stepping up to the plate. Nations is joining some of the biggest players in gaming and esports merchandise to create a one-stop shop for all esports fans.”
Global sports lifestyle brand ’47 was announced as We Are Nations’ most recent partner just last month, with the deal including headwear and other merchandise developed for the esports industry.
Perhaps its biggest partnership, so far, is with Riot Games for the LCS. Launching an official merchandise store for the North American competition last February, We Are Nations produces apparel for the league and the 10 franchises that are part of it.
Esports Insider says: We Are Nations has been making strides when it comes to adding teams to its roster of partners in the past year, it’s cool to see it now push forward with the distribution side of the merchandising business.
