Eefije ‘Sjokz’ Depoortere has announced that she’ll be teaming up with Red Bull for its Red Bull Player One 1v1 League of Legends events.
Qualifying events will take place all over the world and the UK event, which will be played online, has over 1,000 signups already. Once all regional events have been completed, the event will move to Brazil for the live final in November.
Red Bull Player One is a partnership between Red Bull and Riot Games EU to create a global 1v1 League of Legends tournament, taking teammates out of the equation and placing all the demand on the individual players shoulders. Registration is open to anyone from any of the global participating regions (not just Europe).
Speaking about the deal in her announcement video on Twitter, Eefje ‘ Sjokz’ Depoortere, had this to say: “I’m super excited to announce that I’ll be partnering up with Red Bull for their Player One tournament — These are an awesome set of tournaments where you can become a star no matter how good or how bad you are, even though I hope you’re pretty good.”
Participants at the live event will also receive on-site coaching from some of the best LoL players in the world, a gaming house will also be provided for the duration of the live event.
Rules to enter the event are simple: Don’t be a participant in any professional League of Legends series (LCS, LEC, LCS, LPL etc), be at least 16 years of age and have a valid passport. You will also need to comply with any regional restrictions that may apply.
Esports Insider says: In recent months we’ve seen Sjokz outside of League of Legends more as she went freelance at the start of 2019. Seeing her announce her involvement in another League of Legends event will surely be great news for fans.
