Riot Games has named League of Legends statistics and data visualisation service U.GG as a partner for its LCS segment, ‘This or That.’
The deal will see U.GG incorporate data into the weekly podcast and host a live version of the show at the LCS Summer Finals.
Matt Archambault, Head of Esports Partnerships and Business Development for North America at Riot Games commented on the partnership: “We’re excited to welcome U.GG to be part of This or That for the 2019 Season. From summoner profiles to champion builds and win-rates, U.GG offers comprehensive League of Legends statistics and data visualization service for every level of player including our most knowledgeable experts like our LCS shoutcasters. These powerful data and tools will be used to power a discussion slide during each weekly episode, allowing our hosts to explore additional topics and fuel new conversations as part of one of our most popular LCS shows.”
Hosted by Sam “Kobe” Hartman-Kenzler and Clayton “CaptainFlowers” Raines, ‘This or That’ takes place on PrimeTime League every Thursday on the official League of Legends esports YouTube channel. More details on U.GG’s live presentation of the show at the LCS Summer Finals, which takes place in Detroit on August 24-25, will be announced at a later date.
Eric Huang, VP of Marketing at U.GG added: “What U.GG offers is built on the passionate player base and esports scene that Riot Games has done so well to create. We’re probably as endemic [to] the space as it gets — not just to esports, but to League of Legends itself — so we’re understandably excited about this partnership with Riot Games.”
The LCS has unveiled several other partnerships this year, including those with gaming chair brand Secretlab and Rocket Mortgage by Quicken Loans, who will be the presenting sponsor for the upcoming LCS Summer Finals.
Esports Insider says: There has been a growing demand to see deeper analysis and statistics for in-game plays, champions, and players. With U.GG now on-board, we look forward to seeing how the segment develops over the coming weeks and how it translates into a live show.
