OverActive Media – the parent company of Splyce, Toronto Defiant, an unnamed Call of Duty franchise, MAD Lions E.C., and OAM LIVE – has made two new hires.

The company has announced the appointment of Alyson Walker and Tyler Keenan as its Senior Vice President of Business and Vice President of Global Partnerships, respectively.

Chris Overholt, President and CEO at OverActive Media shared his thoughts on the new hires: “Our organization continues to attract industry-leading professionals. Alyson and Tyler’s impressive and varied skills and experiences will bring tremendous depth to our leadership table. I am so proud to have them joining our team.”

Leaving her role as Vice President of Brand Partnerships & Client Strategy at Bell Media, Walker is experienced in sales, marketing, sponsorships, content strategy, production, licensing, and data solutions. She has also held roles at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment and the Canadian Olympic Committee.

Walker commented on her new venture: “I’ve been fortunate to work with some of the biggest brands in Canada, and I’m thrilled to bring all of those collective experiences to OAM as it continues to build out a world-class esports organization. It’s rare to have the opportunity to build a business from the ground floor in a relatively new industry, and the ability to shape and define this space as it professionalizes and mainstreams, is an incredibly exciting challenge.”

Keenan, on the other hand, has previously worked as a Brand Communications Manager and Brand Director for Nike Golf Canada – a company he was part of for over a decade. He has significant experience in marketing and partnerships from the angles of agencies, client-side, and startups.

He touched on his new role in a release: “Esports has arrived, and undeniably shifted the landscape of what sports and entertainment will look like for the next generation of consumers, athletes, and brands. With a digital-first approach that has global reach, esports has the ability to deliver unprecedented opportunity for all involved. I am beyond excited to be a member of the OAM team, to help shape the organization’s future and to unlock the potential of the growing esports audience for our partners.”

OverActive Media added two executives to its board of directors following its founding partnership with Canadian telecommunications company Bell. The company announced the addition of Robin Brudner and Wade Oosterman in July.

Esports Insider says: OverActive Media has undoubtedly been one of the most frequently covered companies by Esports Insider in the past few months and that’s testament to the growth that it’s going through. We’ve seen a couple of cases in recent times of organisations growing too fast and things subsequently going south – hopefully that’s not the case here as there are a lot of people working underneath OAM’s many brands.
