The partnership will see both parties work together on interactive experiences across all five homestand weekends in DC, while PenFed cardholders can get exclusive VIP experiences if they present their credit or debit card. PenFed Credit Union will activate both inside and outside of the arena, also having presence on the live broadcast of each event.

Mark Ein, Majority Owner of Washington Justice, commented on the partnership in a release: “We are thrilled to partner with PenFed as we finally bring the Justice home to Washington for our first ever home matches at The Anthem on February 22 and 23. We have already built a large, enthusiastic fan base who can’t wait to take part in this memorable, historic Inaugural Homestand Weekend where we will begin to establish our Greater Washington region as one of the esports capitals in the world.”

The franchise’s inaugural weekend will see three matches take place at The Anthem each day, including other Atlantic Conference franchises from London, Paris, Toronto, Philadelphia, New York City, Boston, and Houston.

James Schenck, President and CEO of PenFed Credit Union, added: “PenFed is excited to help make The Washington Justice inaugural homestand a landmark event within a city known for its landmarks. The Justice’s players and fans aren’t afraid to dream big and work hard for what they want and that aligns with PenFed’s mission of empowering people to achieve their financial well-being.”

Esports Insider says: The Overwatch League continues to attract large and local brands to collaborate with the franchised teams and league as a whole. With Washington Justice working with a DC-based company for its homestand weekends, this should provide the events with an identity that fits the location and other franchises hopefully have local activations in the works too.
