Kazakhstani organisation AVANGAR has ceased operations to concentrate on building esports venues in its home nation.
The organisation announced the decision on April 1st through Twitter, though HLTV.org and Cybersport.ru have confirmed it’s genuine.

During its three-year lifespan, AVANGAR competed in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Rainbow Six Siege, League of Legends, and PUBG Mobile.
Perhaps the highlight of AVANGAR’s existence was placing second at the StarLadder Berlin CS:GO Major in 2019. The team also won the likes of BLAST Pro Series: Moscow, DreamHack Open Rio de Janeiro, and WePlay! Forge of Masters Season 1 – all in 2019.

On Twitter, the organisation spoke on its legacy: “Remembering our first success on the international stage, we were very humbled by the amount of support we received from our fans and partners. Long time ago they’ve been creating local fanclubs, but today they are filling the stadium fansites — in motherland and abroad.
“AVANGAR has grown along with you and we can’t find the exact amount of words to describe how thankful we are to the community watching our plays, visiting matches, fan meetings and even spamming their favorite copypastas in the chat. See you around.”
Esports Insider says: It’s always a shame to see organisations close doors, especially when they’ve started to achieve impressive feats. Despite that, the people behind AVANGAR seem to have another goal that will keep them in esports so it’s not a complete loss. One has to question the demand for esports venues in Kazakhstan at this time, though.
