Dutch cable network Ziggo, sportswear giant adidas, and technology company Azerion have been revealed as the launching partners for the Ajax Gaming Academy app, which is available to download on Android and iOS devices. According to the release, football coverage website Goal has also been confirmed as a global media partner and will assist in the promotion of the app on a worldwide scale.

Menno Geelen, Commercial Director at Ajax, spoke on the launch: “Together with Ziggo we will host the Ziggo eBattle for our fans on a weekly basis where people can win unique prizes. Also, we’re introducing FIFA21 tutorials that fans from all over the world can utilise to improve in the new game. Now, we are not only helping future talent on the pitch, but also in the virtual world.”

The football club has confirmed that more features will be added to the app in the coming months. In order to prevent any form of cheating during tournaments, the app will feature an anti-cheat system to ensure that a fair, competitive environment is implemented for all players.

Esports Insider says: With other tournament platforms creating mobile applications for players to use, it comes as no surprise to see Ajax expand its offerings by launching its own dedicated app to increase its global reach.
