TV2 renews broadcast deal with BLAST Premier

Danish government-owned broadcaster TV2 has renewed its broadcast deal with BLAST Premier to show the 2021 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive season.

TV2 will obtain exclusive BLAST Premier broadcast rights in Denmark for a third consecutive year, with the television station broadcasting all seven BLAST Premier events in 2021.

TV2’s renewal adds to Britain’s broadcasting equivalent, the BBC, in recently becoming the latest broadcast partner to join BLAST’s portfolio of multimedia partners.

BLAST and TV2 will work closely together to create content outside of BLAST Premier events, which will sit on the broadcaster’s online and linear channels. The events will be shown on TV2 ZULU and online platform TV2 PLAY.

BLAST’s global portfolio of TV and online partners have a joint reach of over 151m TV households, spanning 105 territories and is shown in 18 languages.

TV2 will be showing this week’s Fall Final, which is BLAST Premier’s sixth event of 2020, and will be produced and broadcasted from BLAST’s studio in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Esports Insider Says: A partnership renewal for a third straight year demonstrates the continued success for both parties. With the events hosted in Denmark, it makes sense that the native country would be continually interested in broadcasting one of their country’s fastest growing esports scenes.
