North American organisation eUnited has entered an exclusive partnership with Apple Pay for a new online store and series of online tournaments called eUnited Arena.
The partnership will see Apple Pay as the exclusive payment option across eUnited’s ecosystem including tickets and merchandise.

eUnited Arena is a weekly tournament series that begins on May 26 with a $1,000 (£707) Rocket League event. The esports organisation will host and broadcast games in Call of Duty, Rocket League, Fortnite, and Super Smash Bros.
According to an official blog post, the new series was designed to target casual gamers ‘looking to get games in against pros.’
John DeHart, Director of Marketing & Strategy for eUnited told Esports Insider: “We are thrilled to welcome Apple Pay to the esports ecosystem and offer Apple Pay as our exclusive payment option for eUnited merchandise and tournaments. We believe that Apple Pay will offer our fans and esports fans around the world an easy and secure way to purchase their favorite products and enter tournaments.”

Entry for the Rocket League tournament will cost $5 (~£3.53) each. eUnited will hold a 2v2 Best of 5 Duos and help players find teammates if needed. The finals will be broadcast live on eUnited’s official Twitch channel.
eUnited currently fields three competitive teams playing in Rocket League, Valorant, and Gears of War.
Esports Insider says: Lately there has been a surge of options for amateur as well as up-and-coming esports players to make a name for themselves. If one good thing came out of pandemic lockdowns, it was that online tournaments helped continue to establish and inspire ‘paths to pro’ for the next generation of esports stars.
