Gaming agency Fantasyexpo has been named a ‘strategic business partner’ of esports tournament organiser PGL.

The deal will see the agency represent the tournament organiser in acquiring advertising clients ahead of PGL Major Stockholm 2021, the 16th CS:GO Major championship.

Fantasyexpo has previously collaborated with a number of brands including KFC and Old Spice, alongside supporting a range of tier two CS:GO competitions. In March 2021, the agency unveiled the Fantasyexpo Cup, a qualifying tournament for BLAST Premier’s Spring Showdown.

Krzysztof Stypulkowski, Co-founder of Fantasyexpo, spoke on the collaboration in a release: “A collaboration of this calibre is the best recognition for many years of our contribution to the esports scene.

“We have known each other with PGL for a long time, so we are very pleased that we can take our partnership to the next level. As their business partner, we will try to ensure that the cooperation will result in the acquisition of the most attractive partners.

The PGL Major Stockholm 2021 is set to begin on October 23rd and will see 24 teams compete for the lion’s share of a $2m (~£1.41m) prize pool. The event is expected to be the only CS:GO Major taking place this year.

2021 has already seen PGL collaborate with video game publisher and developer Valve. In March, the tournament organiser hosted the 2021 Singapore DOTA 2 Major, which was the first tournament of its kind to be held since January 2020.

Silviu Stroie, CEO of PGL, also commented on the deal: “PGL MAJOR STOCKHOLM 2021 is going to be the biggest CS:GO event ever, and we must deliver an incredible show for the viewers and the clients. We decided to partner with Fantasyexpo, an agency that we trust with a solid history in esports, to materialize our ideas and activations. We cannot wait to show the world what we have prepared  for this fantastic event.”

Esports Insider says: With only one CS:GO Major taking place in 2021, plenty of eyes will be on the event, making it an exciting prospect for potential advertisers to showcase their offerings. PGL acquiring the services of Fantasyexpo is certainly a smart move in order to attract the biggest brands ahead of the tournament.
