In addition, the platforms and distribution department will focus on the commercialisation of media rights.
Michael Haenisch, CEO of Freaks 4U Gaming, commented: “Being one of the world’s top esports and gaming content creators, Freaks 4U Gaming works closely with leading digital and linear media such as streaming platforms, social media, and television networks.
While these platform partners have been and will always been key stakeholders to our business, over the years we have also grown these relationships through providing consultancy and services, realizing productions as well as activations on our partners’ behalf. Given this unique dynamic, we believe a dedicated team is necessary to best cater to these strategic partners and accounts.”
Prior to being announced as the company’s Head of Distribution and Platforms, Hauser worked as Freaks 4U Gaming’s Account Management Lead.
In his new role, Hauser will develop strategy and manage operations regarding ‘all facets of media rights’. Moreover, he will look to bolster platform partner relations.

Marco Niemann, Freaks 4U Gaming’s Vice President Commercial, added: “With Sebastian’s proven track record at Freaks and as a seasoned professional, I am extremely excited about his new leadership role in driving one of the most critical initiatives for the company moving forward.
“The new department and appointment come at a strategic time for Freaks – after our recent investor announcement and wins of high-profile projects – as we gear up for 2022 with more exciting plans to come.”
So far in 2021, Freaks 4U Gaming has announced a multi-year partnership with ESL Gaming; secured a deal with Riot Games to take control of the NLC and raised €15m (£12.7m) in its latest funding round.
Esports Insider says: As Freaks 4U Gaming continues to bolster its portfolio, it’s important that the company’s backroom structure grows as well. As such, the addition of a platforms and distribution department should, in theory, enhance the firm’s partnerships and media deals. The appointment of Hauser is also a smart decision, especially given his history with Freaks 4U Gaming.
