Media, gaming and esports company Enthusiast Gaming has appointed Alex Gonzalez, formerly of RESPAWN Products, as the Head of Luminosity Gaming.
The appointment, which takes place effective immediately, will see Gonzalez oversee all of Luminosity Gaming’s business operations.

Prior to joining Luminosity, Gonzalez held the position of Brand Manager at gaming furniture and accessories company RESPAWN Products. Gonzalez also held a similar role at gaming entertainment brand Red Reserve, where he eventually became the company’s Chief Operations Officer.
At Red Reserve, he was responsible for handling operations, including remotely managing a team of content creators, freelancers, management and staff.
Via a post on LinkedIn, the newly appointed Head of Luminosity commented: “I’ve joined Enthusiast Gaming to become their Head of Luminosity and run their legendary esports and gaming organisation. Luminosity is a brand that I watched grow alongside me since 2015 and I couldn’t be more excited to get this opportunity.”
Moreover, Gonzalez will remain as an Adjunct Esports Professor at Shenandoah University where he teaches esports governance and consumerism to a class of 25 students.

Earlier this year, Enthusiast Gaming teamed up with digital asset mining company Hut 8 which now sponsors EV.IO and Luminosity Gaming. Last week, Enthusiast Gaming laid off a number of staff at its esports and gaming news publication Upcomer as part of a ‘company-wide pivot to video’.
Esports Insider says: Luminosity Gaming has chosen an experienced candidate to run all of its business operations. Alex Gonzalez has years of experience in senior management roles within the esports and gaming industry. As such, it will be interesting to see the direction in which he will steer Luminosity going forward.
