Swedish esports organisation Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) has partnered with regional fashion company Stiksen.

As a result of the deal, NIP and Stiksen will collaborate on a limited-edition cap.

Stiksen is a Stockholm-based apparel brand specialising in baseball caps. The company claimed in a release to be focused on sustainable business practices.

This is the first foray into esports for the headwear brand. The product itself will be a customised version of the brand’s 105 Canvas cap model with NIP branding, and will be available through the esports organisation’s website.

Ninjas in Pyjamas recently launched their own line of sleepwear for men and women. Moreover, the organisation partnered with Swedish brand A Good Company for a water bottle made from recycled steel and a series of coffee mugs.

NIP noted at the time that the two companies are entering into a ‘sustainability-focused alliance’.

Alexander Frykberg Källåker, Creative Director of Stiksen, commented: “In reflection of the ever-growing gaming industry and increasing environmental challenges, collaborations such as this one can be seen as real game-changers.

“Posing as valuable inspiration for fans and fellow organisations alike, it is great to see that organisations like NIP, who are of global relevance, choose to act upon their function as role models responsibly.”

Sustainable partnerships and practices are slowly becoming more present in esports. One of the most notable players in this field is North American esports organisation FlyQuest, an organisation that puts an emphasis on sustainability and care for environment.
