Nigma Galaxy, the esports division of Dubai-based gaming and esports company Galaxy Racer, has appointed Jan Hoffmann, formerly of Fnatic and Rix.GG, as its new Head of Operations.
In the role, Hoffmann is responsible for all operational areas of Nigma Galaxy. In addition to the brand’s operations, Hoffmann will also focus on new projects supporting the female esports scene.
Hoffmann joins Nigma Galaxy following year-long tenures as the CEO of British esports organisation Rix.GG and as a Director of X1 Esports, a Canadian esports and entertainment company. During his time at Fnatic, he held the role of Head of Team Operations and was the organisation’s Team Director for its League of Legends team.
Alongside being responsible for Nigma Galaxy’s operations, Hoffmann will also oversee all of the brand’s esports rosters. This includes its Dota 2, CS:GO, and most recently, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang teams.
Following the merger of Team Nigma into Galaxy Racer in September 2021, Nigma Galaxy continues to expand its offerings across the gaming and esports industries. In April 2022, the brand hosted its Rising Stars League of Legends tournament, which included Etihad Airways and ADGaming as partners.
Hoffmann, the newly-appointed Head of Operations at Nigma Galaxy, spoke about his new role: “I’m very happy to announce that I have joined Nigma Galaxy as Head of Operations.
“Nigma Galaxy is a world-class esports organisation always striving to be the best and to replicate and build on the success they already had in the past. Working with this experienced group of esports veterans is incredibly motivating and fills me with excitement for the things we have in store.”
