MPL MENA, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s (MLBB) esports league for the Middle East and North Africa, is set to commence its Fall Split on August 12th.

The mobile esports event will once again be organised by tournament organiser Esports Middle East and features a $200,000 (~£164,000) prize pool. This is the same amount as the first MPL MENA Spring Split earlier this year.

The winners of MPL MENA 2022 Fall Split will also be invited to the M4 Championship, MLBB’s global event taking place in January 2023.

All matches will be streamed on Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s official MENA channels. This inlcudes YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and BIGO LIVE. In total, eight teams will compete in the event Thrones Esport, Hydra, Squademon, Rappelz Squad, DOMINANCE, AXE, Aogiri Fam and Unique Synergy.

MPL MENA Spring recorded a peak viewership of 7,700, according to analytics platform Esports Charts. The tournament was won by Middle East organisation-less team GX Squad.

According to a release, Esports Middle East will utilise its experience from the previous split to bolster the MPL MENA’s production quality.

The league is MPL’s newest competition, having only been established this year. The competition’s other leagues include the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Singapore and Brazil.

Wayne Song, MLBB MENA Region Publishing Developer, commented: “MOONTON Games is interested in the growth of MLBB in the MENA region besides esports. While we continue to perform in esports, we will also provide MENA users with novel in-game campaigns that place the interests of our players first. Thanks to the comments of the local players, our MENA team will be working on a range of events and content for gamers in the future.

“Following the success of MPL MENA Spring Split, we pledge to continue operating the MPL MENA Pro League, as well as collegiate and community competitions, with the assistance of our partners at ESME.”
