ESL FACEIT Group, the holding company behind tournament organisers ESL Gaming and FACEIT, has secured a multi-year media rights partnership with Vietnamese cable television channel VTVcab.

The Vietnamese language-exclusive deal is expected to cover the production, delivery and localisation of notable ESL FACEIT Group competitions for Vietnamese viewers.

This includes ESL and DreamHack’s full portfolio of branded and operated competitions, such as its ESL Pro Tour ecosystem for CS:GO and StarCraft 2 as well as the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS).

VTVcab is part of Vietnam Television (VTV), one of the biggest television corporations in the country. In October, the state-owned broadcaster secured local media rights for the entirety of the 2022 World Cup football tournament in Qatar.

Also included in the deal, Viatimnese fans will be able to watch localised broadcasts of ESL Impact — CS:GO’s women’s circuit — Dota 2 tournaments and the Snapdragon Pro Series, ESL’s mobile esports ecosystem.

Alongside broadcasting a significant amount of ESL FACEIT Group events, both entities will create content and competitions tailored to Vietnamese communities. According to a release, the broadcasts will be delivered via VTVcab’s linear and digital channels.

Nick Vanzetti, SVP Asia-Pacific Japan of ESL FACEIT Group, commented: “As our world-class esports tournaments continue to expand, it is our priority to make them accessible to as many fans as possible — and to execute those broadcasts in a manner that makes them available to all.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled for this partnership with VTVcab as it brings us closer to achieving our goal and allows us to share some of the best esports moments with our fans from this region.”

Despite the year coming to an end, ESL FACEIT Group has endured a busy month. This includes securing a partnership with Ticketmaster and announcing its first-ever ESL Apex Legends Premiership tournament.
