Esports organisation Tribe Gaming has partnered with electronics manufacturer Samsung for a creator-focused live gaming event called Mission: Galaxy.

The event will take place in Las Vegas on March 6th and will feature mobile content creators competing in several ‘mobile gaming challenges’ for a prize pool of $15,000 (~£12,500).

Tribe and Samsung did not announce what games will be played.

Samsung’s mobile division, Samsung Gaming, first partnered with Tribe Gaming in September 2022. The partnership mostly saw Tribe players use Samsung devices for competing and content creation, and the upcoming event is one of the first in-person activations created jointly by the two brands.

The event itself will see two teams comprised of gaming creators compete in a set of challenges, while using Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra phones. The teams will include well-known creators such as Orange Juice Gaming, Cori, Natwithaheart and Waseem.

Tribe Gaming is one of the largest dedicated mobile esports organisations in North America and the world. The company has notably partnered with car manufacturer Ford and communications platform Discord in the past, and is known for its success in a large number of mobile titles, such as Clash Royale, Brawl Stars and Call of Duty Mobile.

Samsung has also recently been announced as the presenting sponsor of the Snapdragon Pro Series, one of the largest mobile esports tournaments in the world.

The company is also a notable partner of a large number of esports brands, ranging from Guild Esports and Tribe Gaming to Team Vitality and the ESL FACEIT Group. Samsung is a TV partner for Vitality, and a mobile gaming partner for the Snapdragon Pro Series.

Mobile esports is a fast-growing vertical of the esports industry, particularly in the Eastern world. Mobile esports titles such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), Free Fire and PUBG Mobile regularly see millions of concurrent viewers for esports tournaments.
