Riot Games, the company behind FPS title VALORANT, has announced further details about the upcoming VCT Ascension series of events.
There will be a total of three Ascension events, all of which will have LAN finals. The tournaments will kick off right after the Masters Tokyo, and will take place in Thailand, Germany and Brazil.
The Ascension tournaments are a part of the competitive VALORANT ecosystem. The tournaments gather the best teams from the regional Challengers leagues across the three major regions — EMEA, the Americas and Pacific — and give them a chance to earn a spot in one of the International leagues. A total of 36 teams will play in the three Ascension tournaments.
The tournaments give the teams that perform well throughout the season a chance to compete at the highest level via a two-year promotion.
The three tournaments will take place from late June to July in the three major regions, with LAN finals being played in Bangkok for the Pacific, Berlin for the EMEA and Sao Paulo for the Americas region.
For the Pacific region, all 10 days will be played on LAN, the Americas region will see the early stage played in the Riot Studio; and the EMEA tournament will take place online first, with a LAN finals in Germany.
All regions will consist of a group stage and a playoff stage. Pacific will have 10 teams from the start, EMEA will have nine Challengers teams and one Play-In winner team, and Americas will feature a total of six teams.
