Gaming technology company Inspired Entertainment has teamed up with game data platform GRID to launch a betting-focused CS:GO product called Re-Play eSports.
Re-Play eSports aims to utilise footage taken exclusively from CS:GO’s Champion of Champions Tour. The global circuit, which is still underway, was launched by GRID in 2022 alongside the likes of FACEIT, Relog Media and Fantasyexpo.
Inspired Entertainment specialises in supplying content, platforms, services and other products to online and land-based lottery, betting and gaming operators. As such, Re-Play eSports will be offered to customers via Inspired’s Virtuals sportsbook and VPP (Virtual Plug & Play) platform.
GRID will be responsible for powering the official in-game data and video feeds of Re-Play eSports. Specifically, Re-Play eSports will offer bets on certain possible outcomes, such as which team will win, first kills and the total number of survivors during rounds.
According to Inspired, the company aims to utilise Re-Play eSports as a fusion of virtual sports and esports in an attempt to attract new customers and offer a different gaming experience.
Virtual sports are computer-generated traditional sports games that are typically utilised by a range of bookmakers. The games are generated using statistics, which also determines outcomes.
Mikael Westerling, Chief Sales Officer at GRID, commented on the deal: “CS:GO has proven to be an iconic eSports title with an active fanbase that has been growing constantly for more than a decade. Inspired has taken a unique approach to creating the product that recognised the next generation’s needs and taps into the esports potential.
“We are excited to partner with Inspired and ensure the next wave of innovation in esports betting is powered by official in-game data, providing the best fan experience for all players.”
Outside of the betting space, GRID recently strengthened its relationship with games developer Riot Games when both parties launched the VALORANT Data Portal (VDP), a new home for the FPS shooter’s in-game data.
