Man City Esports partners with esports platform Challengermode

Man City Esports, the esports division of English football club Manchester City, has announced a partnership with esports tournament platform Challengermode.

As a result of this deal, Man City Esports will have its own dedicated section on the platform, starting with weekly FIFA 23 and Rocket League tournaments. Challengermode has also been named the official esports platform of Man City Esports.

The club’s first FIFA 23 tournament, called the ‘Treble Winners Cup’, is set for June 29th and is open to European players with a signed City first-team shirt up for grabs. The best-performing participants will also have a chance to win a variety of prizes including more signed shirts and match tickets, amongst others awards.

In addition, Man City Esports revealed it also plans to consider hosting tournaments for other game titles in the future.

Man City has actively pursued esports collaborations in the past, with its most recent partnership being announced just days ago alongside multinational esports organisation Gen.G

Since its establishment, Man City’s esports division has undergone substantial growth, forming professional teams in popular titles like Fortnite and EA Sports FIFA. The team’s roster includes prominent players like ‘Shellzz,’ the reigning ePremier League Champion of 2020/21, and ‘Threats,’ the winner of the 2023 DreamHack San Diego competition.

Meanwhile, Challengermode has been highly active this year, collaborating with BLAST for the CS:GO Paris Major and the upcoming Rainbow Six Siege Major tournaments

Additionally, the platform recently established a partnership with the International Esports Federation (IESF) in preparation for the 2023 Esports World Championship.
