Asian esports organisation Team Flash has announced a partnership with Vietnamese football club Hai Phong FC.
The organisation and the club have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) enabling the two parties to collaborate on a range of activations.
According to a release, Hai Phong FC will aim to utilise its partnership with Team Flash to try and increase its brand awareness among the younger Vietnamese population. The organisation will advise the club on its existing esports strategy alongside forming a FIFA Online 4 roster for the 2023/24 season.
In addition to fielding a FIFA Online 4 team, Team Flash and Hai Phong FC will work towards building an Arena of Valor roster that intends to start entering competitions in 2024.
Founded in 1952, Hai Phong FC is a well-known football club in Vietnam. The team has won the country’s top division — now called V.League 1 — 10 times and finished second last season.
Team Flash is no stranger to collaborating with other organisations. In November 2022, the organisation partnered with Gen.G to launch a scholastic esports camp in Southeast Asia which offers students opportunities to learn industry skills and gain experience in content creation.
Hai Phong becomes the seventh partner of Team Flash, joining the likes of international airline VietJet and electronics company Samsung on its roster.
Mark Chew, CEO of Team Flash, spoke on the deal: “This partnership with Hai Phong marks an exciting milestone for Team Flash as we work with an established football organisation of their stature.
“Hai Phong is one of Vietnam’s biggest football clubs and with Vietnam being one of Team Flash’s strongest markets, this collaboration heralds a promising time ahead for Team Flash and esports in Southeast Asia. We look forward to what is to come for this industry as we work together to advance the development of sports and esports in the region.”
