The setup, called BASE, consists of a computer, screen, keyboard, mouse and a gaming desk, with all components fitting into the desk itself, allowing for portability.

BASE can be best described as a foldable desk with interior space for storage. The desk itself is 114 centimetres wide and 68 centimetres deep, which houses a desktop PC and a full-sized monitor inside it. With all components, it weighs in at 27 kg. According to UNEVN, the setup takes ‘around a minute’ to set up and supports monitors up to 27”.

UNEVN was founded in Finland by brothers Aleksi and Santeri Rinkinen alongside former professional Dota 2 player and two-time The International winner, Jesse ‘JerAx’ Vainikka. According to a release, Vainikka’s experience in playing globally helped the team adapt the product towards pro players.

The company’s website states that the price of the product starts at £1,149 with the most expensive set-up costing £3,699.

UNEVN noted that its product solves a number of issues that concern esports players and teams. CEO Aleksi Rinkinen stated that the product was designed to offer smooth gaming performance, as well as portability, allowing players to set up and play anywhere. The product is designed and built in Finland, and uses components provided by Finnish manufacturers.

Another main goal was to simplify bootcamps for teams. According to UNEVN, a lot of space and time is generally used for equipment at bootcamps, and BASE eliminates the need to transport PCs and desks by allowing for bootcamps to be organised in smaller spaces with more efficiency.

Co-Founder of UNEVN and former Dota 2 player Jesse Vainikka commented: “Setting up your gaming setup usually takes a lot of time, and you have to take many things into account. From what I’ve seen and experienced, tournament setups don’t meet the players’ expectations. BASE has been designed to be professional and ergonomic in order to help players thrive in any environment.”
