Daniel Sanders has joined Danish esports organisation OG Esports as its Chief Commercial Officer.

Prior to joining OG, Sanders spent over a year at esports betting platform Luckbox as its Marketing Director.

Sanders announced the news in a LinkedIn post on September 1st, highlighting OG Esports’ values and positive culture. In the announcement, the CCO also looked back on his 17-year career in marketing and brand management.

Equipped with a Master’s degree in International Political Economy and a Doctor of Philosophy, Sanders started as a Student Brand Manager for Red Bull. Throughout his tenure in esports, Sanders has worked with several notable companies in the industry, including Dignitas, FACEIT, and Tencent Games.

Sanders spent over five years as Head of Esports and Gaming Marketing UK at Red Bull, executing the company’s local esports vision. Most notable is Sander’s development of the local Red Bull Gaming Sphere, a content studio, tournament venue and creator space in London.

OG Esports represents the second esports organisation in Sanders’ portfolio. Founded in 2015, the Danish organisation harbours competitive teams in CS:GO and DOTA 2.

Sander’s appointment as CCO is not the only major personnel change OG Esports has seen this year. In February, JMR Luna stepped down as CEO after nearly three years with the organisation. As of writing this article, OG Esports has yet to appoint a successor.

Sanders commented on joining OG Esports, via LinkedIn: “OG is more than just an esports team, it is a philosophy. I strongly align with the values and approach of this incredible organisation, and I am looking forward to working alongside such a skilled and passionate team.

“There is an unrivalled deep-rooted, positive culture within the company, with a vision to do good for the esports community; I will strive to go above and beyond to continue to live, breathe, and build that.”
