European esports organisation Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) has appointed Fabio Fusco as its new Head of Partnership Sales.
Fusco joins the Swedish esports brand following a career within the football business sector, in particularly business development and partnerships in football. In his new role, he will look to help grow NIP’s partnership roster and assist in scaling the esports organisation.
Fusco has been working in the field of business development and partnerships since 2017, notably for football clubs in Italy and Spain. Fusco worked at FC Internazionale Milano (Inter Milan), Valencia CF and AS Roma, and brings abundant experience from the sports world to the esports organisation.
Fusco held several executive positions in the mentioned football clubs, focusing on partnerships and sales. Interestingly, his most recent position in AS Roma was Head of Partnership Sales, the role he is now holding at NIP. During his time at Valencia, Fusco also worked with the club’s esports team VCF Esports, the first dedicated esports division of a La Liga club.
Fabio Fusco, new Head of Partnership Sales at Ninjas in Pyjamas, told for Esports Insider: “I’m thrilled to join NIP as their Head of Partnership Sales. After an amazing experience in football, the opportunity to work for such an incredible esports organisation is an exciting path that I am honoured to take.
“I look forward to working with brands to build long tailored-made partnerships and provide them with the huge value that NIP has. I want to thank Jonas Gundersen and Hicham Chahine for their trust, they have fantastic plans for this legendary team and I’m enthusiastic about helping them grow the business side of it.”
Ninjas in Pyjamas officially merged with Chinese brand ESV5 earlier this year, creating NIP Group in the process. At the time, the Group’s leadership noted that the plan is to create a global digital sports group and further push the NIP brand globally.
Despite its growth, NIP has come under criticism lately due to deleting references supporting Ukraine from its socials after supposed alleged from Riot Games China.
