Media City Qatar, a hub created to support the country’s media ecosystem, and esports company SNRG have teamed up to host an esports forum conference in Doha, Qatar.

According to a release, the Media City Qatar Esports Forum will focus on how the country can develop its esports efforts and bolster the local ecosystem. To do this, the event will feature a range of panel discussions, keynote speeches, workshops and networking sessions.

A variety of industry stakeholders have been announced as speakers for the event, which is set to commence on May 19th. This includes Team Vitality Co-Owner Fabien Devide, ESL FACEIT Group’s General Manager Abdelatif Sakkoum and Alexis Barrassin, the Senior Director of SPORTFIVE’s MENA division.

Esports Insider (ESI) will also be present at the event with Sam Cooke, ESI’s Managing Director & Co-Founder, speaking on the ‘Who Watches Esports? Unpacking Esports Audience Demographics’ panel.

Media City Qatar Esports Forum will be supported by partners Visit Qatar and the Qatar Esports Federation, with representatives from the two organisations also speaking.

Esports in the MENA region has risen in prominence significantly over the past couple of years. Large-scale esports projects in countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are planned or underway. Moreover, the Qatar Esports Federation recently unveiled a large-scale Dota 2 league that consists of three events and a $2.6m (~£2.06m) prize pool.

Quest Esports, one of Qatar’s biggest esports organisations, secured a Dota 2 collaboration with French football club Paris Saint-Germain in October last year to become PSG Quest. Fabien Dilem, Paris Saint Germain’s General Manager for Regional Offices in MEA and India, will also speak at the forum
Ahmed Al Meghessib, Head of Sports Affairs Sector at Qatar Esports Federation, commented: “The Qatar Esports Federation is proud to be a part of this forum, and to be leading the esports evolution in Qatar. We are dedicated to fostering growth and development in this sector, to propel Qatar into the global esports stage.”

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
