The newly renamed Honor of Kings Championship will host its 2024 edition in Indonesia with teams battling it out for $1m (~£784,220) in prize money.

The event concludes the 2024 Honor of Kings Global Invitational Series which began in March 2024.

For 2024, the tournament’s name has changed from the Honor of Kings International Championship, with the event also having a reduced total prize pool. Last year’s event had the second-highest prize pool of any event in 2023, with $10m (~£7.8m) on offer. Similar to its last edition, the 2024 Honor of Kings Championship will feature 16 teams

The event is the fourth in Honor of Kings’ 2024 calendar which has featured two league splits and a mid-season competition, the latter of which was formed part of the Esports World Cup. Due to a partnership with the Esports World Cup Foundation, the organisers of the Esports World Cup, Honor of Kings will feature at the event in 2025 and 2026.

2024 has been a year of expansion for the Honor of Kings esports circuit. In January 2024, Level Infinite unveiled plans to invest $15m (~£11.7m) into the MOBA’s ecosystem which included the hosting of tournaments and the entrance into new markets across the world.

Honor of Kings continues to attract interest from several markets. In June, French organisation Team Vitality unveiled its roster in addition to joining the title’s partnership programme which aims to support the growth of the esport and expand its outreach.
