North American stock car racing league NASCAR has partnered with tournament organiser BLAST for the upcoming FNCS Global Championship and Rocket League World Championship 2024 events.
According to a release, the NASCAR brand will be featured both online and physically during the events with a car on display at the venue, the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
The FNCS Global Championship and Rocket League World Championship 2024 will take place on September 7th-8th and 10th-15th respectively.
In addition to the car display, the partnership will include broadcast content with Fortnite and Rocket League players taking on NASCAR-inspired challenges.
NASCAR is no stranger to esports competitions, especially when it comes to Rocket League. The league has also been a long-time partner of Psyonix, the developer of Rocket League, creating in-game content for the game since 2021. Last year, it also collaborated with Korean esports organisation Gen.G on several activations.
The partnership announcement for the event comes right after BLAST announced a deal with gaming furniture brand Blacklyte to become the events’ official gaming chair partner. The tournament organiser began operating the RLCS earlier this year after striking a deal with game publisher Epic Games. This deal also included the continuation of BLAST’s FNCS production.
Alexander Lewin, SVP for Commercial Revenue at BLAST, commented on the deal: “We are excited to partner with NASCAR for the FNCS Global Championship and Rocket League World Championship 2024.
“This collaboration represents a fusion of two dynamic and passionate fan bases – esports and motorsports – coming together to celebrate competitive excellence. We look forward to delivering an unparalleled experience for all Fortnite and Rocket League fans and competitors. These events promise to deliver intense, high-stakes action, bringing together elite players and enthusiastic fans from around the globe for two unforgettable weekends.”
