The Group Stage of the 1win Series Dota 2 Fall is officially over. The Dota 2 tournament organised by 1win Esports will see Team Liquid and Team Spirit among the teams progressing today into the Playoffs.

In total, four teams exit the Group Stage without a share of the $100,000 (~£79,000) prize pool after an extremely tight final few matches that went down to the nail. With coverage supported by 1win, Esports Insider re-caps the 1win Series Dota 2 Fall Group Stage.

The Group Stage used a modified GSL format which saw eight teams split into two groups of four: Group A and Group B. Matches started as best-of-one (BO1) before moving to BO3 for the Losers’ and Decider matches.

Group A consisted of Team Liquid, Gaimin Gladiators, Nigma Galaxy and Team Secret, while Team B boasted Team Spirit, PARIVISION, 1win Team, and OG Esports.

Group A games, which took place on November 19th, were a tale of two teams — Team Liquid and Gaimin Gladiators. After Team Liquid and Gaimin Gladiators secured triumphs against Nigma Galaxy and Team Secret, respectively, the two clashed once again in 2024 in a rematch of The International 2024 final.

Just like this year’s The International, it was ultimately Team Liquid that walked out victorious in the Winners match. However, Gaimin Gladiators has still qualified for the playoffs after defeating Nigma Galaxy in Group A’s Decider match.

Over in Group B it was a slightly different story. 1win Team and Team Spirit both claimed wins in their opening matches, leaving PARIVISION to fly to victory in a swift and decisive 2-0 Loser’s match against OG.

But after Team Spirit took a narrow win against 1win Team in the Winner’s match, 1win were shut out in a rapid 2-0 by PARIVISION in the Decider match to claim the final playoff spot.

As a result, Nigma Galaxy and Team Secret from Group A and 1win Team and OG Esports from Group B are both heading home without a share of the prize pool this time around. Team Liquid, Gaimin Gladiators, Team Spirit and PARIVISON as a result have progressed.

Playoff action commences at 1pm GMT today, November 21st. The action can be followed on 1win’s official event Twitch channel or YouTube livestream.
