ESL FACEIT Group-operated mobile esports tournament Snapdragon Pro Series has announced Electronic Arts’ football video game, EA SPORTS FC Mobile, as a new game in its multi-title ecosystem.

The mobile game will now be offered in the Latin American region with open qualifiers running through November for the event.

Over December 14th and 15th, ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) will host the first Snapdragon Pro Series to have an EA SPORTS FC Mobile live event – the LATAM Snapdragon Mobile Challenge 2024. The event, which takes place in São Paulo, Brazil, will see 12 EA SPORTS FC Mobile players from the LATAM region face off in person.

This deal not only sees EA SPORTS FC Mobile have its first appearance at a Snapdragon Pro Series event, but also the title becomes the first sports game to feature in its ecosystem.

The Snapdragon Pro Series has a multitude of competitions across various mobile games. This includes the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Free Fire Mobile and more. At the beginning of the year, EFG unveiled details of a 2024 expansion which increased its prize pool to around $4.4m (~£3.5m) and expanded the games on offer.

Recently EFG announced that the tournament had broken multiple records and milestones. According to a release, Season 5’s official broadcasts generated 235m views and 23m hours watched, headlined by the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament which had a peak viewership of 888,710.

Sam Turkbas, EA’s Senior Director and Commissioner of Football Esports, spoke on the announcement: “We are delighted that EA SPORTS FC Mobile will be part of the LATAM Snapdragon Mobile Challenge 2024. FC Mobile allows players around the globe to realize their football dreams on the virtual pitch. We are excited to see the best players in LATAM have the opportunity to qualify and compete in-person at the finals in Brazil.”
