League of Legends has unveiled an exclusive range of in-game Drops and limited-edition merchandise ahead of its inaugural First Stand event.
In addition to the merchandise and drops, Riot Games will also introduce a brand-new esports head-up display (HUD) to create a better viewing experience.
How to Get League of Legends First Stand Drops
Fans who tune in to First Stand can earn exclusive drops throughout the event by watching matches on the League of Legends website and logging in with their Riot ID.
Drops will be distributed to eligible viewers when a Pentakill is scored or a Baron steal takes place during a match.
Each Pentakill or Baron steal will earn viewers a 2025 Esports Capsule, and any Knockout Stage match that goes to five games will also earn them a Capsule.
During the Finals on March 16th, 2025, viewers who watch the match live can also earn an exclusive First Stand Brand emote.
For fans who want something physical, Riot Games has also created a First Stand 2025 merch collection.
The range features a t-shirt, jersey, jumper and varsity jacket that all utilise First Stand’s colour scheme. The collection will be available at LOL Park in Seoul, Korea, with the Varsity Jacket being the rarest item since each product is individually numbered.
Riot Games also noted that some pieces of First Stand 2025 merch will be available online from March 4th for a limited amount of time.
League of Legends’ Esports HUD
The introduction of a new esports HUD is perhaps the most surprising announcement in Riot Games’ First Stand Primer. According to the company, the HUD aims to modernise presentation and ‘lay the foundation for future innovations’.
The developer revealed that the new HUD allows it to ‘push the boundaries of game augmentation’ and improve the viewing experience for both those familiar with League of Legends esports and those new to the MOBA title.
Adjustments range from a new vertical scoreboard to rotating scoreboard widgets that keep track of a range of in-game statistics and information.
The HUD will transform throughout a match, giving viewers a clearer view of gameplay without losing any informational content that adds context to the match.
The First Stand Tournamnet takes place from March 10th to 16th at LoL Park in Seoul, South Korea. The event is one of three international League of Legends events taking place throughout the 2025 season.
