VALORANT Esports World Cup 2025 schedule, format, how to watch

Following Riot Games’ multi-year partnership with the Esports World Cup Foundation, the esports festival will feature an official VALORANT tournament for the first time this year.

Here is everything we know so far about the VALORANT Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 event, taking place from July 8th-13th.

As part of the Saudi Arabian government-backed annual esports event, VALORANT EWC will be hosted at the Boulevard Riyadh City venue in Riyadh. According to Riot’s deal with the EWC’s main organiser, EWC competitions for VALORANT and the developer’s two other flagship titles—League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics—are confirmed until 2027.

While the prize pool and the teams have not yet been revealed for the VALORANT EWC, we can expect details to be announced as we head closer to the event. Moreover, according to Liquipedia, the winner of the Asian Champions League (ACL) VALORANT competition will qualify for the EWC.

VALORANT’s first EWC competition will be held roughly one month after Masters Toronto, the VALORANT Champions Tour’s (VCT) second international tournament of the year.

VALORANT EWC will see 16 teams compete in four double-elimination format Groups, each featuring four contestants. The top two teams from each Group will advance to the Playoffs comprised of a single-elimination bracket.

The match formats have not been revealed yet. However, VALORANT tournaments typically include best-of-three (BO3) matches, except for the best-of-five (BO5) Grand Final.

The six-day VALORANT tournament will kick off on July 8th with 12 Group Stage matches. Throughout the second and third day, four Group Stage matches will be played, respectively.

The Playoffs stage then commences on Day 4 with the four Quarterfinals games. Day 5 will see two Semi Finals matches, followed by the Grand Final on July 13th.

Although unconfirmed so far, the main broadcast language will most likely be English. The games will likely be streamed on the official EWC Twitch channel or a dedicated VALORANT EWC channel similar to those for Counter-Strike and Dota 2.
