Riot Games celebrated the grand opening of a new League of legends Championship Pacific (LCP) Arena earlier this week.

The new venue in the Datong District of Taipei, Taiwan will host all of LCP’s matches from now on. According to a press release, the LCP Arena will be available for both livestreaming and in-person attendance starting straight away from Mid Season. The first batch of tickets for its opening week sold out in 30 seconds.

“It was always our wish to have a permanent esports home for our region, and it is a huge milestone to have this wish come true as we continue to elevate the quality of the esports experience for our fans,” said APAC Publishing and Esports General Manager Sean Oh.

“We’re glad to see the community share our enthusiasm, which was clearly shown when tickets for the opening weekend sold out on the very day they were released. We can’t wait to welcome a live audience, bringing their energy, passion, and excitement to every match and helping create the esports experience we all know and love.”

Carry International, which partnered with Riot Games to bring the Arena to life, called the opening a ‘dream come true’ after years of hard work. Carry International’s Chairman Jerry Yen said the new arena should ‘reignite’ the LCP fans’ passion for League of Legends esports.

The grand opening included esports teams, partners and Riot Games representatives signing a commemorative banner to be displayed at the arena. Moreover, CTBC Flying Oyster was presented with a trophy for the LCP Season Kickoff. The region’s new home is meant to provide a platform for CFO and other local teams to ‘shine,’ stated LCP’s Head of Product Piotr Pilich.

What’s Inside the LCP Venue?

The new venue features a main stage with 217 LED panels that span over 100 square meters. There are also top-end performance gaming PCs from MSI and COUGAR chairs for all the players. About 136 fans can be seated, including two wheelchair-accessible spots.

There are plenty of exciting new features at the LCP Venue that go beyond just watching matches play out.

The reception area will have official Riot Games merchandise for sale as well as food and beverage. There will also be team rooms for teams waiting for matches, which will be equipped with TVs for extra coaching and strategy discussions. Team huddle rooms will have a ‘coach observer PC’ to allow monitoring of ongoing matches. The LCP Venue also has backstage areas, a press room, a master control room, and plenty more.

LCP Venue Location

The new LCP Venue is located at 4F, No. 136, Minquan West Road, Datong District, Taipei.

It’s said to be a very convenient location next to public transportation stops, including just 290 meters from the Minquan West Road MRT Station and 30 meters from a nearby bus stop at the Minquan Dalong St. Intersection.

How to Get Tickets to the LCP Venue

Tickets can be purchased in multiple ways for those that want to watch LCP matches in person at the new Venue. This includes online as well as in FamilyMarts across Taiwan.

Tickets will not be sold on-site at the venue.
