League of Legends developer Riot Games has launched a wildcard tournament as part of the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) ecosystem.

Legends Ascend South Asia is a tournament that offers amateur teams within the region a chance to compete for prize money and a chance to qualify for the LCP Wildcard Playoffs.

According to a release, the launch of the tournament, in association with Aftermath Ventures, is the start of a ‘bold new chapter for competitive League of Legends’ in South Asia.

The tournament runs for four months and features online qualifiers, a league stage, and a double-elimination playoff phase. Teams compete for a share of INR 1,000,000 (~£8,796) in prize money.

“Legends Ascend is about giving players in South Asia a real shot at competitive League of Legends,” said Arun Rajappa, Country Manager India & South Asia at Riot Games. “It’s a step towards building a stronger, more connected community where players and fans can all find more ways to play, engage, grow, and be part of something bigger.”

The 2025 LCP season has reached the mid-season stage with participating teams looking to earn a place in the Qualifying Series. The top two teams will secure spots at the Esports World Cup and the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI).

We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
