UK-based esports organisation Tundra Esports has withdrawn from the 26th season of Dota 2’s DreamLeague.
As a result of withdrawing from the event after confirming its attendance, tournament organiser ESL FACEIT Group has issued sanctions affecting its ESL Pro Tour points total.
Tundra Esports withdrawing from DreamLeague Season 26 breaches section 2.11.5 of the ESL Pro Tour rulebook, which has resulted in the organisation receiving a 20% deduction of its points total, dropping it from fifth place to sixth.
Despite the points deduction, Tundra Esports remains in the top 10. This is important because the top ten teams from the ESL Pro Tour earn qualification for the Dota 2’s Esports World Cup event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 8th to 19th, 2025.
With Tundra Esports pulling out of DreamLeague Season 26, NAVI Junior has accepted an invitation to take its place. The team has continued to show a strong run of form after scoring a top-eight finish at PGL Wallachia Season 4.
While some fans are excited to see NAVI Junior involved in top-tier competition once again, others have questioned the event organiser’s decision not to invite Team Secret after the team advanced further in the Western European qualifiers.
