Lynn Vision, TYLOO and Legacy secure Stage 2 places at BLAST.tv Austin Major

Lynn Vision Gaming, Legacy and TYLOO have secured a place in the second stage of the BLAST.tv Austin Major following the conclusion of Stage 1. 

With TYLOO and Lynn Vision Gaming walking out victorious, two Chinese teams have secured a place in Stage 2 of the Major. Meanwhile, it was a bad day for North America as Wildcard and NRG failed to move on to the next stage.

In the opening match of round five, Chinese organisation Lynn Vision Gaming faced off against NRG. A closely-fought Dust II went into triple overtime, with Lynn Vision Gaming emerging victorious after a 22-20 scoreline.

Despite the first close encounter, Inferno was a more straightforward contest, with the Chinese team winning six CT rounds to secure a 13-8 win and a 2-0 sweep. For North American fans, the result ends NRG’s BLAST.tv Austin Major campaign and follows on from Complexity’s exit the day before.

Brazilian organisation Legacy has come into the event with a point to prove after being announced as a late replacement following BESTIA’s visa issue.

As a result, the Brazilians raced to an early lead against Wildcard on Inferno. Despite a late resurgence from the North American organisation, Legacy held on to a 13-10 win to move one map away from the second stage. 

The momentum continued to roll for Legacy, which raced to an early 5-1 lead on Nuke, before ending the half with a ten-round advantage after a dominant CT side.

Wildcard commenced the second half with a brief resurgence to close the gap to 12-6 before Legacy booked its place in Stage 2. Another blow for North American Counter-Strike.

The third and final spot in Stage 2 was contested by FlyQuest and TYLOO. Inferno began with an evenly matched opening, with both teams trading rounds before the Australian side built a 9-3 lead at half-time.

TYLOO closed the gap to nine rounds apiece but it was FlyQuest that managed to secure a 13-10 win to open the series.

The Chinese side began Mirage with an immediate response, opening the map with five consecutive rounds on the board. TYLOO kept the ball rolling, ending the first half with a huge 11-1 lead. FlyQuest were unable to mount a comeback, with TYLOO wrapping up the map with a convincing 13-3 win.

TYLOO kicked off Anubis with a pistol ace from Yang ‘JamYoung’ Yi, giving the team an early edge over the Australians. TYLOO managed to continue the impressive run of form, establishing a 9-3 lead at the end of the first half.

With momentum fully in favour of TYLOO, the team managed to close out the series with a 13-3 win, eliminating FlyQuest from the Major.
