DogeOS and PlaysOut have joined forces to transform Dogecoin from a meme coin into a functional gaming currency.
The partnership will produce 15 fast-paced, Doge-themed mini-games launching in 2025, playable through the MyDoge wallet and PlaysOut mobile app.
Dogecoin-Powered Rewards, NFTs and Competitive Play Await Players
Until now, Dogecoin has been primarily known for its meme status rather than real-world applications.
By integrating $DOGE into mobile gaming, this collaboration creates tangible utility. Players can win $DOGE airdrops and unlock special in-game items called Doginals, a set of NFTs built directly on Dogecoin. These items can be traded or used across any game in the DogeOS ecosystem.
PlaysOut, known for adapting viral mini-games for mobile, will develop these titles on DogeOS, a new blockchain platform specifically designed for Dogecoin.
PlaysOut is also working on deals to bring well-known brands into the Dogecoin world. The first branded game is set to launch in Q3 2025, with the first mini-games arriving in August.
Jordan Jefferson, CEO of DogeOS, stated: “Gaming has always centered around fun and community, which perfectly aligns with Doge culture.
“DogeOS is building the infrastructure that allows DOGE to move beyond speculation into real use cases.”
Meanwhile, PlayOut co-founder Jassem Osseiran expressed his agreement, emphasising further that a meaningful connection with an IP comes through direct interaction.Â
He noted that while Doge has remained largely a Web3 meme with limited practical use, he sees gaming as a way to transform it into a globally recognized and accessible brand.
DogeOS recently secured $6.9 million in funding, with Polychain Capital leading the round. The platform wants to become the top choice for Dogecoin developers. It offers features like staking DOGE, DeFi tools and cross-game asset support.
