Popular content creator IShowSpeed has announced plans to host a $100,000 (~£75,543) Fortnite tournament.
The streamer revealed the event will be taking place “in the coming weeks” during a recent livestream.
During a stream from July 7th, 2025, Speed called fellow content creator Nicholas ‘Jynxzi’ Stewart to announce that the Fortnite tournament would feature 100 content creators competing for the prize money.
IShowSpeed has become one of the most popular content creators in the world. Since 2016, he has earned 41.6m YouTube subscribers along with over 600,000 followers on his Twitch channel. Known for his streams while travelling around the world, the Fortnite tournament marks his debut in esports event organising.
“Gigantic Fortnite tournament, 100 streamers, $100,000 prize pool,” revealed Jynxzi during Speed’s broadcast.
“You all better stay tuned,” replied Speed, suggesting further details on the tournament will be revealed soon.
The free-to-play battle royale title is no stranger to content creators hosting and participating in tournaments. Last year, British content creator Morgan ‘AngryGinge’ Burtwhistle competed in a streamer-focused Fortnite event.
In addition to content creators hosting their tournaments, Epic Games continues to join forces with notable personalities as part of its esports efforts. The 2025 edition of the FNCS Pro-Am recorded over 600,000 peak viewers as Shaun ‘AussieAntics’ Cochrane and Team Falcons player Peter ‘Peterbot’ Kata lifted the trophy.
What Next For Fortnite Esports?
The third Major of the 2025 FNCS season is in full swing. Following two weeks of divisional qualifiers, the first group will begin their campaign on July 20th.
The top ten teams from each group will qualify for the Major 3 Grand Finals, taking place from August 2nd to 3rd, which will determine the final teams competing at the season-ending FNCS Global Championship in Lyon, France, from September 6th to 9th.
