Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) has dominated the most-watched esports matches that have taken place throughout June.
Of the five most-watched matches, four were from MPL Indonesia Season 15, a popular franchised esports league.
According to esports data platform Esports Charts, the four matches from MPL Indonesia Season 15 recorded peak viewing figures of over two million, with the Grand Final between ONIC and RRQ Hoshi topping the charts at 4.1m.
The only match outside of MLBB esports to break into the top five was T1 facing off against Hanwha Life Esports in the LCK Road to MSI 2025 event. The match between the two sides recorded 1.9 million viewers.
June saw several esports tournaments take place across several titles. Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) held its 22nd Major in Austin, Texas, while VALORANT headed to Toronto, Canada, for its second VCT Masters event of the year. Notably, no matches from both events made it into the top five.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is one of the most popular mobile esports in the world, with several regions in Asia hosting dedicated leagues that attract organisations from around the world. In May, French organisation Team Vitality acquired Bigetron Esports, expanding its presence within the Asian market.
What’s Next For Mobile Legends Esports?
Following the conclusion of its regional leagues, the focus of the MLBB esports scene turns to the Mid-Season Cup taking place as part of the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Taking place from July 10th to August 2nd, 23 teams from across the world will compete for a share of a $3m (~£2.1m) prize pool.
The tournament has come under the spotlight in recent weeks. MOONTON Games announced it had disqualified S8UL Esports from the event due to the North American roster breaching the event’s rules.
