Community-building studio ELO has announced a strategic partnership with player identity protocol XBorg, creators of the loyalty platform FanBase.

The partnership will see ELO leverage its experience and network in the space to expand FanBase beyond esports and into the wider gaming ecosystem. Moreover, this will allow the platform to activate audiences and reward loyalty with game studios, publishers and brands.

According to the release, the integrations will be made across multiple game genres, with fan applications to be launched in different verticals of gaming aimed to grow FanBase’s reach and user base.

Commenting on the partnership, Roald van Buuren, Co-Founder of ELO, said: “ELO stands for community at the core of gaming, its foundation. XBorg’s technology brings that foundation to life, powering richer, more connected out-of-game experiences; from loyalty to discovery to social play.

“Our partnership with XBorg unlocks FanBase for the wider gaming audience, providing studios, publishers and brands a powerful way to engage with their community.”

Founded in 2022 by Louis Regis, XBorg is a series A company based in Dubai operating as a decentralised gaming platform.

The company secured a $9m early-stage funding in 2024 following its token sale and has closed partnership deals with several esports teams, including Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses, JD Gaming and Team BDS, to launch fan platforms.

XBorg’s platform offers the chance to participate in challenges and earn points that can later be traded for digital assets and rewards. This can be achieved while maintaining a clear brand identity for the esports teams, as teams are given the freedom to manage the aesthetics and user experience.

ELO Agency is Led by Esports Veterans

ELO was co-founded by former FNATIC and GIANTX CEO, Wouter Sleijffers, former Director of Esports at FACEIT, Roald van Buuren, and COO Jan Moerland, formerly at Riot Games.

Based in London and Qatar, with over two decades of experience in gaming and esports, the studio works with developers and publishers, acting as a bridge to their communities.

ESI Ranking System
We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
