The latest Counter-Strike 2 update has addressed issues preventing players from navigating maps as intended.

In addition to fixing movement bugs, Valve has also fixed clipping issues on Ancient and Train.

On September 24th, 2025, Valve pushed a small update preventing players from clipping in specific areas of Ancient and Train. Following the update, the left corner of Ancient’s A Main stairs now sees shots move through foliage without any blocking.

Alongside the clipping issues, the developer also resolved movement bugs that stopped players from moving when moving their mouse and issues that slowed player movement while walking up ramps.

September continues to be a busy time for Valve as it releases updates aiming to optimise various aspects of CS2. On September 19th, an update fixed inconsistencies with weapon spray patterns, which surfaced following the title’s Show Off update.

The September 24th update is the ninth update for CS2 this month. September 27th marks two years since Valve launched the latest iteration of Counter-Strike, and continues to ensure players aren’t negatively impacted by issues influencing gameplay in casual and competitive game modes.

Esports Impact

Fixes to movement and clipping on two maps in the Active Duty pool should have a positive impact on CS2’s esports scene. Throughout the month, Valve has been quick to address issues that could influence tournament play after fixing spray patterns while FISSURE Playground 2 and StarLadder StarSeries Season 19 were taking place.

The latest update to the first-person shooter title comes four days before the start of ESL Pro League Season 22, the latest Tier 1 event featuring the world’s best teams.

Following the update, Team Vitality player Robin ‘ropz‘ Kool has continued sharing his thoughts on further areas Valve can improve the title. Suggestions include the addition of 128-tick game servers and an invasive anti-cheat to combat hackers appearing in matches.
