Game developer SNK has announced the details surrounding the 2025 SNK World Championship (SWC), which will be held during DreamHack Atlanta, from October 31st to November 2nd.

The championship will see players fight for a combined $4.1m (~£3.04m) prize pool across four different FGC titles: Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves (CotW), The King of Fighters (KOF) XV, Samurai Shodown and Art of Fighting 3 (AOF3).

The tournament, managed and operated by ESL FACEIT Group, will see the best FGC players compete at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Additionally, the event will also host a Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) during the first day of action, except for The Art of Fighting 3, which is an open tournament.

Each tournament will have a different number of participants, with Fatal Fury: CotW and KOF XV having 32 players each, which will drop down to six for the grand final. In particular, Fatal Fury: CotW’s prize pool is confirmed to be $2.5m (~£1.85m), $1.5m (~£1.11m) of which will go to the champion.

KOF XV’s winner will take home $500,000 (~£370,277) of the $1m (~£740,555) prize pool.

Samurai Shodown, instead, will feature 16 players (four of them from the qualifier) and three finalists, with a combined $500,000 (~£370,277) prize pool. The remaining $100,000 (~£74,055) will be distributed to the top-performing players of the AOF3 open tournament, which will gather a total of 256 participants, with three players fighting in the final.

DreamHack Atlanta’s other featured esports tournaments

The SNK World Championship will not be the only major esports competition at the event. Earlier this year, both the Clash of Clans World Championship and the Clash Royale League World Finals were confirmed for the event.

Other tournaments include the DreamHack Knockout CS2, giving the winners a chance to qualify for the ESL Pro League S23 and the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier, featuring the top 64 EA FC players in the world.
