Free Fire MAX India Cup (FFMIC) 2025, India’s first official esports event for the game since 2022, has announced its competition venue.

The tournament is set to culminate with the grand finals at the Ekana International Indoor Stadium, Lucknow on September 28th.

Sixteen teams will be competing in the FFMIC grand finals for the title of champions and a share of the INR 8m (~£67,000) prize pool.

Garena said in its announcement that the tickets for the event will be available soon on ticketing platform BookMyShow.

FFMIC 2025 Teams

The 16 teams who will compete in Lucknow at the grand finals are as follows:

  • GodLike Esports
  • Jonty Gaming
  • Total Gaming
  • Aerobotz Esports
  • Genesis Esports
  • Nightmare Esports
  • Reckoning Esports
  • Gods Reign
  • Team iNSANE
  • Vasista Esports
  • NG Silver Eagle
  • Team Hind
  • Revenant XSpark
  • Autobotz Esports
  • Nonstop Pros
  • Team Tycoons
  • S8UL
  • Kar98 Army

These teams have qualified through open qualifiers which happened in-game. This was followed by online qualifiers and a four-week league stage to decide the 16 finalists.

The grand finals of FFMIC 2025 will follow the Champion Rush format. This means that the team which takes the Booyah (match victory) after reaching the Champion Rush Point, which is 80 for the grand finals, will win the tournament.

If no one manages this, the team with the most points after 10 matches will be crowned the champions.

The tournament will be broadcasted live on the Free Fire MAX India esports YouTube channel.

Future of Free Fire Esports

India was one of the biggest markets for Free Fire globally, but it was brought to a halt in February 2022 as Delhi banned the game along with several other applications for alleged data privacy concerns.

However, Free Fire MAX was not banned and has become the go-to title for the game’s fans in the country.

Now, Garena is going all in on Free Fire MAX with the FFMIC. This marks the first official esports event for the country since the ban.

Recently, Garena also hosted the BOOYAH Awards, an award ceremony to reward creators and players across 13 different categories. This happened on June 7th at the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan in Kolkata, the same venue which played host to the BGMI India Series just months earlier.

BGMI is the other dominant battle royale title in the Indian market.

Even with the FFMIC, however, India has not been given a slot at the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) Global Finals 2025, set to happen in Indonesia from October 31st to November 15th.

We’ve created a ranking system to help you quickly know how good each gambling platform is. As gamblers ourselves, we know which factors matter most to you, so we follow a best-in-class methodology to test each one with no stone unturned. Once done, we then rank each platform based on the following tiers:
  • A-Tier High-quality sites that deliver a top experience every time. They boast strong performance, nice features, and reliable support, but are just shy of perfection.
  • B-Tier Solid platforms that are worth a spin. They’re safe, fun, and functional, but may be lacking advanced features or have minor drawbacks.
  • S-Tier Reserved for elite operators only. These go well beyond the norm with lucrative bonuses, rewarding promotions, lightning-fast payouts, and a flawless experience overall.
