Play Solana, the initiative behind the crypto space’s first handheld gaming device, has launched SuperHUB, a new platform designed to accelerate mainstream adoption of Web3 gaming.
This launch coincides with the imminent shipment of its Play Solana Gen 1 (PSG1) console, positioning SuperHUB as an intuitive solution to the industry’s persistent onboarding challenges.

In a press release published on October 2, the Play Solana team confirmed the launch of SuperHUB.
Described as a vertically integrated ecosystem, the new product will consolidate elements of gaming, hardware, decentralised finance (DeFi), identity and cultural intellectual property (IP) into one platform.
Furthermore, SuperHUB directly targets a key barrier to Web3 adoption — the absence of a physical consumer entry point.
To fix this, the SuperHUB platform is anchored by the Play Solana Gen 1 (PSG1) handheld console. This gaming device combines gameplay with digital ownership through its built-in crypto wallet and fingerprint authentication.
This hardware-software synergy, featuring a unified game library and digital identity tools, creates a natural onboarding flow and a unified user journey designed to streamline the experience, improve player acquisition and boost long-term retention.
With the October 6th shipping date of the PSG1 approaching, anticipation is growing. Early adopters are expected to gain access to an expanded library of curated Web3 games, many of which will feature integrated mechanics such as crypto staking, token swaps and NFTs.
The handheld console boasts an octa-core ARM processor, 8GB of RAM, and an LCD.
Crucially, it integrates built-in security features like a hardware wallet and fingerprint authentication for secure asset management during gameplay. This positions it as a direct competitor to devices like Sui’s SuiPlay0X1.
