Professional esports player Miron ‘Effect‘ Novikov has joined Aurora Gaming’s Apex Legends roster after a transfer agreement was reached with his former organisation, Alliance.

Effect will represent Aurora Gaming in upcoming Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Year 6 events, joining former world champion Filipe ‘Hiarka‘ Morgado and returning player Svyatoslav ‘ojrein‘ Korochinsky.

It has become the latest roster change for Aurora Gaming. The organisation previously parted ways with Year 4 champion Jose ‘Uxako‘ Llosa back in January 2026, a long-time duo for Hiarka.

Despite signing Year 4 champions to its roster, Aurora Gaming saw an early elimination during the Bracket Stage of the Year 5 Championship, placing 24th overall. Only time will tell whether the organisation can achieve better results in upcoming events such as the ALGS 2026 Online Open.

In its blog post, Alliance reflected on Effect’s career with the organisation since joining back in 2022. Highlights include winning the Apex Legends competition at the Esports World Cup 2024, where Alliance secured $600,000 (~£445,000) in winnings. Alliance also placed runners-up at the ALGS Year 4 Championship and ALGS 2025 Open.

My time with Alliance has been the most defining period of my life,” Effect wrote. “While it’s time for me to face a new challenge with Aurora, I want to thank the fans for their endless support and Hakis for taking a chance on me back in 2022.

Before leaving the organisation, Effect competed for Alliance at the ALGS Year 5 Championship in Sapporo, Japan. Despite reaching the Finals, the team placed 14th overall and was overshadowed by top performers such as Team Falcons and ENTER FORCE.36, and Year 5 champion Oblivion.

Alliance is currently scouting for a replacement to complete its Apex Legends roster. As of writing, the organisation’s Year 6 line-up includes John ‘Hakis‘ Håkansson and Andre ‘unlucky‘ Türk, with Oscar ‘Yuki‘ Jiang standing in as a substitute.
